Printing Visio Drawings
There are several ways to print your drawing and several options for printing. Visio is a what you see is what you get style application – the goal is to have what you create on screen come out that way in a print out. It would do you no good if what you saw on the screen was different in a presentation and a print out, so for the most part, you don’t need to do much to get a nice looking print out of your drawing.
Page Setup Options
Page setup allows you to control the options available when printing a drawing. There are several tabs of options available to change how the printed copy of your drawing will look.
- Click on the File menu.
- Click on Page Setup.
- The Page Setup dialog box opens.
- On the first tab, you can change the printer paper and the zoom of the drawing to print.
- On the second tab, Page Size, you can change the page size to be the same or different than the paper you are printing on.
- On the Drawing Scale tab, you can select a scale for your Visio drawing. This is handy for architectural or product specification drawings.
- On the Page Properties tab, you can change the properties of the individual page in Visio.
- On the Layout and Routing tab, you can change how connectors are routed in your drawing.
- Finally, the Shadows tab allows you to apply a shadow to your drawing.
Now that you’ve made changes to the page setup options, you’re ready to preview your print out.
