Using the Status Bar

The status bar at the bottom of the Photoshop window displays information about the tool you’re currently using, including instructions for using the tool. Keep an eye on the status bar when you’re using an unfamiliar tool, since these instructions can guide you through the process.

To quickly change the zoom level for the current image window, you can enter a new value into the field at the far left size of the status bar:

The area to the right of the zoom field displays information about the active document. By default, document size information is displayed; you can click the black arrow to the right to select different information:
